Daisy
Happy Spring! I am petite little Daisy (like Daisy Dukes!!), weighing only about 54 pounds. I am a beautiful creamy white, brown eyed, pink tongued charmer. I am 5 ½ years old (born in December 2003), but have tons of spunk and spring in my step. Like all of my LRR buddies, I’m spayed, housebroken, crate-trained, and up to date on all of my shots.
I’ve been pretty busy these last few months. You see, I was with a family for about 5 years. But, my Dad always wanted a golden retriever—I tried to be one, but I guess I didn’t fool him. So, they brought home a puppy. Well, the puppy and I were too much work, so guess what? They SOLD ME! Can you believe it? I went to a house with a cat, and the cat didn’t really like me much. So, after about a week she SOLD ME! Then, I was at a home where the resident dog kept trying to attack me. I was a nervous wreck. Thank goodness I didn’t get sold again - I finally ended up with LRR.
My foster mom says I have the perfect amount of energy for just about anybody. I am nice, calm, and settled inside the house. In the hot weather, I enjoy lying on the wood or tile floors relaxing. When I get a little chilly, I love to lie right near your feet, making sure one paw is always touching somebody.
And outside—where’s the ball??!! I get so excited, I bounce straight up in the air - just like a spring! I am happy to retrieve for adults or any kids who would like to throw it for me. I am very gentle when I bring the ball back and will not jump on the kids. I try to place the ball right in your hand so you’re ready to throw it right away!! Every now and then I try to sneak the ball into the house (hey, a girl has to try, doesn’t she??). But once I’m caught, I’ll let the ball go without protest.
While I am excellent at meeting other dogs, neighbors, and kids, I did not do so well meeting the cat at my foster home either. I thought I did a great job at barking and corning it in the closet and chasing it all over the place but the foster parents did not agree. I would also constantly bark and scratch at the floor to let them know whenever she was around but that did not go over well either. One other thing to keep in mind is that, with all of my moves, it takes me a few days to settle in a new home and warm up to you. But, pretty quickly I try to wrap everyone (moms, dads, and kids) around my finger (or tummy). My foster mom gets quite a laugh when I roll flat on my back, and twist and wiggle back and forth around the room. As an added feature I sometimes do it with a ball or bone in my mouth. Usually, my plan works and I end up with a great tummy rub, chin scratch and tons of ooohs and aaaaahhs about how darn cute I am! Will you fall under my spell???
If you’ve already been entranced by my charms, why don’t you send in your application to LRR and ask for me!
