Mocha
Anyone for tennis? Or at least a tennis ball? Mocha is my name, and tennis balls are my game. I am a soft, shiny, black (nope, not chocolate), 2-3 year old female born June 2006. I am Hershey’s sister. Here at rescue, they would call me -well loved-. My first family loved me a little too much - I could stand to lose a little weight. I am not complaining - carrots and green beans make pretty good treats! I am Crate-trained, spayed, up to date on shots, and ready for my forever home.
My story is really not bad. Hershey (my chocolate female litter mate) and I lived together for a couple of years with a family. We all recently moved across country, they had a human baby, and Mom is expected to be called up to Iraq. Hershey and I had a lot of time on our hands. One day we decided to wander off when we were in the yard. Our Mom and Dad found us at the shelter safe and sound, bailed us out, and realized that we each may need a family that could give us more attention. I love Dad for contacting Lab Retriever Rescue. He even made sure that I had a dowry, I have my own embroidered Christmas stocking, and engraved dog bed cover! The day LRR came to visit, I kissed Hershey good bye, wished her the best of luck and we started our separate lives. Both of us are doing super and our separate personalities are truly shining.
I am a lover! I love meeting other dogs on our walks. I whine with sheer excitement when I see one! My tail is wagging the whole time. These past few weeks, I have been pretty busy. I do really well in doggy daycare, and I love hanging out with my foster sisters and brothers. I did get to spend time as the only dog; and that was pretty good, too!
Do not get me wrong, I also adore people. I love pets on the head, ear scratches and best of all, belly rubs. I have created a move I call the “Mocha”. Just start scratching my ear or chin, and I will stretch out real far, and then ker-plop! I flop over flat onto my back and expose as much of my belly as I can. My foster mom wonders why I do not get a headache with all of the flopping I do. I also spent some time with a 3yr old at one of my foster homes and could not get enough of him.
I am proud to say that my foster mom can not find any flaws with me! For my health, I just need to shed a few pounds (okay probably 10-15lbs). BUT, I am easy to walk on a leash, I sleep happily on my dog bed on the floor, I share my toys, I do not chew things that aren
