A new collar- $5.00. A rabies shot $25.00. A new knee- Expensive, But a forever home….Priceless. Hello everyone- My name is Tucker. I came to LRR with a bum knee, but no worries….I am on the mend, I tell you about that in a minute.

I am Lily’s famous brother. I mean bigger brother. I am just about 75 lbs and enjoy food so I have a tendency to get a little pudgy, but unfortunately my foster family is on top of things and watches me too carefully. Like, Lily, I am about 3.5 years old and have a birthday in July. We were given up by a family with a young baby, lived with older dogs, little dogs, a cat and enjoyed each other quite a bit.

When LRR evaluated me, the immediately recognized my left leg was hurt. My first family had replaced my right knee about a year ago with a TPLO. It seems to be super! So, the joke is that there are no more knees to fix. LRR had me examined by an orthopedic surgeon who diagnosed me as having a fully torn cruciate ligament. I was wisked to surgery the same day and have been in a hard cast for 3 weeks. I go back this week for a soft cast which I will have for 3 weeks…then I am on restricted activity for a bit of time and hear that I get to go swimming. After that, they tell me I will be as good as new, probably better.

I am a very good boy. I am completely housebroken, neutered at an early age and very sweet. If I did not have to lug this cast around, I could get around much better and would enjoy playing with four legged friends. I love to give kisses and lean really close for lots of loving. I am not very good on a leash, but am very good at sit and “lay down”. I seem to pick up things very quickly, my foster mom noted, so leash walking can’t be that hard.

I am starting to take a look at some applications, but won’t be leaving LRR until my cast has been removed. Please don’t hesitate to send in an application. Please consider letting me work my way into your heart.
